Job summary

Weyerhaeuser Company is recruiting for an Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator at our OSB facility in Hudson Bay, SK. The role emphasizes safety, compliance with environmental regulations, and coordination of training and safety programs in a manufacturing environment.

Typical duties include incident investigations, emergency planning, and maintaining safety records, with a strong focus on policy adherence, site safety improvements, and communication with employees and contractors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Eligible to work in Canada.
• Experience in Environmental or Health and Safety role is an asset.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
• Willingness to wear PPE.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and in full compliance with the facility's safety plans, policies and practices.
• Role model all standards/processes and on-the-job behavior by living core values of safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability, and inclusion.
• Be accountable for compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions on a daily basis.
• Ensure inspections and recordkeeping are performed at required frequencies and environmental monitoring parameters comply with permits and regulations.
• Implement facility environmental plans and procedures accurately and timely.
• Provide administrative support and coordination of health and safety programs.
• Assist with organization and scheduling of new hire training.
• Present monthly safety training, statistics and safety knowledge to employees.
• Ensure new hire orientation and training is completed with proper documentation.
• Participate in incident investigations to determine root causes and preventive actions.
• Assist in emergency response and evacuation plans and ensure preparedness measures.
• Maintain Safety Filing System; electronic and hardcopy.
• Develop hazard assessments, safe job procedures and written reports.
• Distribute communications on Health & Wellness and Safety Alerts.
• Attend Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings; assist with minutes and agenda.
• Analyze and recommend improvements for safety data tracking and reporting.
• Assist with internal and external safety audits.
• Provide visitor and contractor orientations.
• Perform additional Health & Safety projects as assigned.
• Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
