Job Summary
The Project Manager II oversees medium to complex projects, including developing plans, assembling teams, and ensuring timely completion. Responsibilities include managing Salesforce platform projects supporting various university functions, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, and ensuring solutions align with institutional strategies and best practices. Acts as the primary contact for stakeholders and supports planning, estimation, implementation, and administration activities.

Organizational Status
Works within the UBC IT Salesforce Solution and Delivery team, liaising with various UBC units, external consultants, and stakeholders.

Work Performed

Specific Duties:

  • Manages Salesforce platform projects from analysis to billing, coordinating with clients and internal teams.
  • Prepares budgets, project plans, and contingency strategies.
  • Secures approvals, maintains project logs, and produces progress reports.
  • Develops schedules, allocates resources, and consolidates billing requirements.

Core Duties:

  • Initiates projects, develops requirements, plans, and budgets following project management methodologies.
  • Provides guidance to project teams, monitors progress, and manages variances.
  • Conducts project reviews, fosters collaboration, and maintains professional knowledge.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Consequence of Error/Judgement
Errors may lead to budget overruns or project delays affecting university schedules.

Supervision Received
Works under the direction of the Senior Manager, Constituent Engagement Platforms, with results reviewed for strategic alignment.

Supervision Given
Provides guidance to UBC IT staff and monitors project progress.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with at least five years of related experience or equivalent. Demonstrates commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI certification preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce projects and maintenance of Salesforce Administrator certification.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, accountability, analytical thinking, and business enterprise knowledge skills.
