Provincial Preschool Autism Services

The PPAS is a partnership between IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health, Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia, and Autism Nova Scotia. It offers person- and family-centered services to preschoolers across Nova Scotia with suspected or diagnosed autism. Its goal is to provide an efficient, sustainable, and integrated continuum of health services tailored to individual needs, including:

  • Clinical intake and care coordination
  • Family and health professional education
  • QuickStart NS parent coaching toddler program
  • Autism diagnostic assessment
  • Interprofessional autism interventions
  • Intensive intervention for children with significant social communication and behavioral needs
  • Transition to school supports

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Provincial Preschool Autism Services, the Staffing Clerk will support staffing and administrative functions within the PPAS portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collection and review of time entry data for accuracy
  • Completing payroll entry for staff
  • Data entry
  • Payroll support for the Children’s Health Program as needed

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday; 70 hours bi-weekly

Your Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of recognized Office Administration Program required
  • Minimum six months related experience required; equivalent education and experience may be considered
  • Experience in healthcare setting is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer programs required
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Initiative, diligence, and self-discipline
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to continual learning and teamwork
  • Experience with Family Centered Care
  • Ability to work respectfully with interprofessional teams
  • Knowledge of additional languages is an asset
