The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Centre-Wide Clinical Nutrition and accountable to the Coordinator for Clinical Nutrition, the Metabolic Nutrition Clerk is responsible for operating the Nutrition Support Program. This includes ordering metabolic food and formulas for Nova Scotia patients enrolled in nutrition support programs, invoicing, maintaining patient and formula databases, and preparing reports. The Clerk liaises with patients, families, caregivers, clinical dietitians, diet technicians, supply, procurement, and purchasing staff, vendors, and delivery companies. Performs other related duties as required.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday (8 am - 4 pm), excluding holidays.

Your Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program required
  • Minimum of one (1) year related administrative experience required; two (2) years preferred
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Nutrition is an asset
  • Equivalent education and experience considered
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Publisher); testing may be conducted
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork
  • Ability to work respectfully with inter-professional teams
  • High initiative, diligence, attention to detail, self-discipline
  • Commitment to continual learning and supporting colleagues
  • Family Centred Care commitment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Language skills other than English are assets
