Position Purpose And Summary
The Specialist, Digital Communications, advances the mission and vision of Trinity Western University by creating positive and generative marketing and communications campaigns aimed at driving audience engagement across the University’s many digital communication channels.
As the tactical champion of our marketing and communications campaigns, funnels, and workflows, this individual creates, deploys, tracks, and optimizes marketing and communications campaigns for a variety of different audiences on behalf of departments and areas across the institution.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Digital Marketing & Communication Campaigns
- Coordinate the creation, execution, optimization, and reporting for digital marketing and communications campaigns (including, but not limited to, email, text, paid search/social, landing pages etc.)
- Create and deploy effective campaigns and journeys to drive customer engagement with relevant messages
- Develop and monitor automated marketing and communication workflows to optimize for engagement
- Manage the digital campaign and communications calendar for optimal volume and frequency
- Provide copywriting for digital campaigns across all relevant digital channels as needed
- Ensure brand messages are clearly communicated in campaign copy, workflows, and campaign elements
- Maintain brand and messaging consistency in accordance with the University brand standards
- Continuously optimize marketing and communications campaigns to achieve positive campaign outcomes
Campaign Optimization
- Coordinate the creation, development, deployment, optimization, and reporting of new and existing workflows including engagement studio design, content planning, copywriting, and scheduling
- Monitor and report scoring metrics to measure and report performance against stated goals and objectives
- Conduct A/B testing and engineered experiments to help drive engagement and conversion optimization
- Create relevant reports to analyze user behaviour to continuously improve engagement and conversions
Project Coordination & Administration
- Ensure successful project execution and timeline management through critical paths
- Successfully coordinate digital projects ensuring a smooth and continuous flow of work
- Ensure daily project and task management in team project management platform (i.e., Wrike)

Skills And Abilities
- Demonstrated experience in Salesforce and Marketing Cloud (CRM and communication platforms)
- Experience in optimizing email and landing page content and user funnels
- Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
- Proficiency in copywriting and editing for marketing and communications campaigns
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
- Problem-solver with demonstrated critical thinking ability to meet goals
- Ability to execute within established process and framework but able to innovate
- Calm demeanor with a bias for action and taking the initiative to ensure results

Standards & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Communications or English
Experience
- 2-3 years of digital marketing or copywriting for digital platforms
- Experience with Salesforce and Salesforce apps (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Enrollment Rx), an asset
- Experience with project management and marketing automation platforms, an asset
