The successful candidate will be responsible for application support for our mainframe retail lending systems. This individual will partner with our technology and business teams to ensure that all issues are prioritized, documented, and communicated appropriately. They will be responsible for end-to-end support of lending technology applications, from adjudication to servicing, gaining in-depth knowledge of our lending systems and business processes.

As part of our Canadian Retail Lending application support team, you will restore service, implement changes, support daily operations of mission-critical systems, and ensure business service levels are met. A 24/7 on-call rotation is required to support infrastructure, applications (online and offline), and security, ensuring service restoration and compliance with SLAs. You will provide Help Desk support, coordinate incident management, oversee and participate in production environment changes, and engage third-party providers during incidents. Immediate response to production or system problems is essential, along with proper escalation and documentation. Look for opportunities to automate processes, perform health checks with alerts using monitoring tools, and follow up on incidents to devise permanent solutions for recurring issues.

  1. Triage and assist in resolving high-impact problems/projects through evaluation of complex business and system processes and industry standards.
  2. Collaborate with delivery teams to review and understand new projects, architecture, and environment changes.
  3. Provide expertise on application contention and performance issues.
  4. Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and monitoring standards for implementation.
  5. Develop a comprehensive understanding of our retail lending business to prioritize, communicate, and resolve issues.
  6. Conduct in-depth analysis to define issues and develop innovative solutions.
  7. Serve as an advisor or coach to support analysts, allocating work as needed.
  8. Assess risks associated with mainframe environment changes.
  9. Provide technical oversight on the production floor, understanding full process requirements (compliance, equipment, regulatory) to resolve issues effectively.

Qualifications :

  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in mainframe application support, systems support, or senior analyst roles.
  • Experience with Mainframe technologies such as CICS, DB2, VSAM, MQ, WebSphere, JCL, ESP.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like COBOL and Easytrieve.
  • Experience leading a technology team, either in project management or technical support roles.
  • Advanced knowledge of retail lending and home finance (NCCS, CCAPS, Mortgages).
  • Ability to quickly adjust priorities as needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
  • Strong collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and influence skills.
  • Highly motivated to learn, research, and share knowledge and ideas.

Salary :

$74,800.00 – $138,600.00

This range reflects BMO Financial Group’s pay structure and may vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. Part-time roles are pro-rated, and role-specific incentives and bonuses may apply. BMO offers comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and retirement plans.
