Job summary

Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of: Educational Assistant: Classroom Assistant/Physical Care at Our Lady of Sorrows School. The 1.0 FTE Permanent position becomes effective September 4, 2026.

Mandatory requirements include a two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field and experience supporting students with diverse needs; strong teamwork, communication, and knowledge of behavior modification and augmentative communication are

Qualifications

Two-year post-secondary diploma in Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing (formerly RNA diploma).
Experience working with students with multiple needs including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior, and anger management needs.
Preference for candidates with direct experience working with children with behavior exceptionalities.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Working knowledge and experience of behavior modification strategies.
Knowledge of augmentative communication strategies.
Experience using technology and digital tools and resources that support the remote learning environment (e.g., Google Classroom, Google Meet).
Excellent interpersonal skills; and good written and oral communication skills.
Regular access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.
