Job summary

Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of: Educational Assistant: Classroom Assistant/Physical Care at Our Lady of Sorrows School. The 1.0 FTE Permanent position becomes effective September 4, 2026.

Mandatory requirements include a two-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field and experience supporting students with diverse needs; strong teamwork, communication, and knowledge of behavior modification and augmentative communication are

Qualifications

• Two-year post-secondary diploma in Developmental Service Worker, Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, or Practical Nursing (formerly RNA diploma).
• Experience working with students with multiple needs including physical needs, Autism, developmental delays, behavior, and anger management needs.
• Preference for candidates with direct experience working with children with behavior exceptionalities.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Working knowledge and experience of behavior modification strategies.
• Knowledge of augmentative communication strategies.
• Experience using technology and digital tools and resources that support the remote learning environment (e.g., Google Classroom, Google Meet).
• Excellent interpersonal skills; and good written and oral communication skills.
• Regular access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.
