Job summary

The Simcoe County District School Board invites applications for an Educational Assistant. This 1.0 FTE permanent position supports students across academic, behavioral, social, and life skills development within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning environment.

The role may require toileting, lifting and mobility assistance; BMS training is required, with preference for experience with ASD and AAC.

Qualifications

• All Educational Assistant positions require a relevant university degree, or a two-year college diploma in the human services field.
• Positions require Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training, excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Support students to achieve success in academic, behavior, social, life skills and co-op contexts.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, supportive learning environment for all students.
• Rotate through school settings to meet needs across multiple groups and grade levels.
