Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Windermere, AB, is hiring an Educational Assistant to work alongside teachers and families to create a welcoming, home-like environment for children. You will support programming, communicate with families, and collaborate with a team to help children learn and grow.

Requirements include 1–3 years in childcare, strong communication, and a current First Aid/CPR certification, plus access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of childcare experience or similar work with children who have diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills are required.
• Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment and health/safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily programs and activities under guidance of a certificated teacher.
• Plan and implement programming based on individual child needs.
• Communicate effectively with children and families to build relationships.
• Collaborate with a team to support a caring, home-like environment.
• Prepare and document IPPs and parent communications as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As an Educational Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Helping children with various degrees of need in the learning environment.
• Planning and implementing programming based on the need of the child supported by a certificated teacher.
• Effectively communicating and building a relationship with children and families.
• Ability to collaborate with a team.
• Ability to write an IPP, tracking and planning forms as well as parent communication are required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience working in the childcare field or in a position with children who have diverse learning or developmental delays
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
• Access to a reliable vehicle and a driver's license
• Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
