Job summary

Heritage Christian Online School seeks an Education Assistant to work with students in the family home for the 2026-27 school year. This part-time contract role may grow in hours based on student needs and EA skills.

Location: Telkwa, BC; Grades 6-9; Schedule: 10-20 hours per week, flexible during school hours. Competitive wage and contractor model offered.

Qualifications

• Background in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention, or work with children/youth.
• Professional credentials beyond EA are welcome (e.g., psychology, social work, coaching).
• A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or in process) is an asset.
• Align with Biblical Attributes and KCCS Foundational Beliefs.

Responsibilities

• Support behavioural and academic needs of students with Home Learners.
• Mentor students and encourage positive study habits and life skills.
• Differentiate learning by ability and learning style.
• Collaborate with Case Manager and parent to support personalized learning.
• Assist in carrying out IEP goals with the student support team.

The Position:

We are seeking an Education Assistant to work with students in the family home for the 2026-27 school year. This is a part-time contract position that may grow in hours over the course of the school year, depending on student needs and EA skillsets.

• Location: Telkwa, BC
• Grades: 6-9
• Schedule: 10-20 hours per week, flexible during school hours

As the Education Assistant your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the behavioural and academic needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person
• Encouraging positive study habits and life skills
• Differentiating learning based on student ability and learning styles
• Collaborating with the Case Manager and the parent to support personalized learning opportunities
• Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

• Background working in Education, EA Support, Behaviour Intervention, or with children/youth
• Professionals with non-EA specific credentials are encouraged to also apply (e.g., psychology, behaviour analysis, social work, coaching, mathematics, etc.)
• A valid Certified Educational Assistant certificate (or training in process) is considered an asset

• Competitive Wage: $23.97 – $28.13 hourly depending on certification and experience
