Job summary

Leon's Furniture in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Director of Stores to lead the Prairies North region from our Edmonton base. You will drive execution, ensure alignment with the annual business plan, and act as the service leader between Corporate and stores to optimize sales, margins, cost control, customer service and safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a management position in retail.
• Minimum 3 years sales and/or customer service experience in a retail environment.
• Proven ability to motivate and lead management teams and to develop staff through coaching, mentoring and training.
• Willingness to travel (20–30%).
• Post-secondary education in Business Management or a related field is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Achieve all sales, margin and cost control targets as per budget to maximize profit for each store.
• Review and analyze sales statistics by market to determine customer needs and growth opportunities.
• Monitor competitive situations that impact stores in the region.
• Develop and maintain a succession plan for regional leadership roles.
• Evaluate team performance and support staff development.
• Oversee merchandise presentation, store cleanliness, and health and safety within each location.
• Oversee development and productivity of human resources within each store.
• Visit stores regularly and ensure timely completion of required store reports and audits.
• Analyze KPIs and operating reports to maximize opportunities for improvement.
