Manager, Research Partnerships and Student Engagement

The Manager, Research Partnerships and Student Engagement is a key role at Red Deer Polytechnic’s applied research ecosystem. Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Applied Research, this position is responsible for fostering strategic partnerships, securing research funding, and enhancing student engagement in applied research projects. The Manager will lead a team comprising the Research Grant Specialist, Project Coordinator, Grant Writers, and Student Coordinator to ensure effective operations and impactful outcomes.

This role is split approximately 50 / 50, with half the time dedicated to co-leading the Central Alberta Regional Innovation Network (CARIN) , promoting regional innovation and collaboration. The remaining half focuses on supporting large-scale applied research projects and facilitating meaningful student placements and engagement within those projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in research administration, partnership development, or grant management.
• Proven success in securing and managing research grants and funding.
• Experience in student engagement and support within academic or research settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Science, Arts, Business, Research Administration, Public Administration, or related discipline).
• Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
