Job Description

Kleinfelder's Ontario, CA office is seeking a Senior Laboratory Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team.

From construction observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Materials Engineering and Testing market helps develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain. We are a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.

Kleinfelder's Ontario, California office is seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Southern California team. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals interested in joining a dynamic team and building their career in construction inspection and materials testing.

Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Reading and understanding applicable testing methods
• Performing testing on soils, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials according to appropriate methods
• Performing strength testing procedures
• Preparing materials for laboratory testing
• Reporting verification of conformance to construction plans and testing methods
• Communicating effectively with clients, field technicians, laboratory supervisors, and other professionals
• Maintaining Kleinfelder's local lab accreditations

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years of laboratory experience in CoMET or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean record and ability to pass drug testing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintain composure, and work effectively under pressure with changing priorities
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and ability to operate a company-provided laptop or iPad
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and over 50 pounds using handling equipment
• Ability to operate heavy equipment as necessary

Preferred Certifications (or ability to obtain):

• American Concrete Institute (ACI)
• California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)
• National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
