Role Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for pursuing Permanent Modular Construction projects, reporting to the General Manager – Permanent Modular Construction. The ideal candidate has experience in consultative selling and can promote ATCO's value proposition tailored to client needs.

The candidate should be goal-oriented, driven, and a self-starter, capable of developing and executing pursuit strategies while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure success. A solid understanding of contracts, risk mitigation, and strategic advantages is essential, along with strong communication skills and teamwork.

Location & Travel

This is an in-office position based in Calgary, with travel within the territory as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage assigned territory and achieve revenue targets.
  2. Develop proposals and responses to RFPs, managing the pursuit lifecycle from inception to award.
  3. Review and analyze construction contracts and assess associated risks.
  4. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
  5. Monitor market trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Design, Construction Management, or related fields; sales or business degrees are also considered.
  • At least 5 years of technical sales experience in construction, engineering design, or related industries.
  • Desire to advance a career with a proven industry leader.
  • High performer aligned with ATCO’s core values, with a solutions-oriented approach and strong relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel within Canada; international travel, including the US, is an asset.
