Minimum Requirements :
- University Degree with a strong research focus with a Masters degree or higher preferred
- 3 years of experience in conducting or guiding research work with a First Nations community or organization
Other Related Skills :
- Strong understanding of research protocols and research methods
- Experience with health research and working with healthrelated datasets
- Understanding of statistical techniques commonly used in health and social research

PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION :
The Community Research Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of all research studies that take place within the Six Nations of the Grand River territory. Expectations are to support the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights the Six Nations Research Ethics Committee and the SNGR Executive Leadership Team in the development of organizationwide research priorities proposals overseeing and supporting research activities and working with and identifying research investigators to carry out aspects of communitydriven research priorities.
In addition this role will support Data Analytics & Insights and the Six Nations Research Ethics Committee in the development and implementation of the research goals and objectives of the organization while working within the policies set for this type of work. This role will also be responsible for compiling data for the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights to understand the research data environment we currently have available to the community and how this can help the organization plan for approving and supporting future research projects. Finally this role will also obtain community feedback to develop a research strategy for the Six Nations of the Grand River community.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Technical Functions :
- Assist in the collection of research data from studies completed in community
- Contribute to the analysis of research data from studies completed in community
- Audit the research data to ensure the organizations data governance is being respected by research teams
- Provide guidance to staff community members and external stakeholders on the organizations processes and policies for engaging in research within the community
- Develop datasharing agreements when applicable in consultation with the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights
- Develop processes that create capacity for communitybased research across the organization
- Ensure community research projects address the gaps in knowledge or assist in building upon existing knowledge by connecting with knowledge holders in the organization and / or community
- Identify funding opportunities and partners to meet research priorities of the organization
- Ensure research projects abide by OCAP principles and our community values
- Provide information to the organization and community on our approved research studies
- Act as a special advisor in all matters related to research for the organization
- Stay informed of regional national and international issues which have a direct impact on research and data control
- Liaise with appropriate stakeholders for respective research projects
- Monitor and coordinate research studies and knowledge translation activities
- Troubleshoot problems at all stages of study development implementation and analysis
- Develop and implement research protocols for internal research needs within the organization
- Compile and clean the research data summaries we receive from research teams and help guide knowledge translation as applicable
- Enter the research data sets into a centralized database
- Support the development of primary data analysis
- Support the development and monitoring of key performance indicators for the organization as it relates to our research needs
- Provide guidance to leadership and other staff on how to properly measure and report research data
- Use research and data analytical skills and knowledge to identify any research data gaps within our current system
- Provide descriptive analyses of our population and service areas of interest
- Continuously innovate and find ways to improve our research data system
- Suggest new data reporting procedures and protocols if gaps arise
- Proactively identify any barriers trends or potential risks of the research data reporting process and recommend solutions to the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights
- Analyze the research data framework and processes alongside the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights
- Assist the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights with specific research data extraction projects as requested
- Assist the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights in annual evaluations of the research data reporting process to measure its efficiency
Administrative Functions :
Maintain a standard of excellence in all work
- Work independently and be proactive on various projects seeking advice when needed to limit any potential risk
- Develop technical and process manuals as applicable
- Work with the Policy Department to develop applicable policies and procedures for ensuring research data is protected and privacy measures are in place

Communications Functions

- Assist leadership and those engaged in research studies in the organization to ensure they are updated on new research initiatives in accordance with new legislation and best practices

- Liaise and interact with external agencies other research data specialists data analysts and other stakeholders / advisers as requested
- Liaise with community agencies and the general public on behalf of the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights when directed
- Exercise discretion and sound judgement in responding to inquiries for assistance and / or information regarding our research data reporting
- Maintains working knowledge with guidance from the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights of the Six Nations of the Grand Rivers services and operations
- May be required to present to the Data Governance Political Committee when applicable
Other Functions
- Performs other jobrelated duties as may reasonably be required by the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights.
- To respond in a Community Emergency situation and be able to provide support for the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights the Chief Executive Officer or Alternate.
- Provides support for the Six Nations Emergency Response Plan by ensuring awareness of the plan and assistance as instructed by the Executive Director of Data Analytics & Insights as a member of the Emergency Control Group.
- It is the responsibility of the employee to be aware of and adhere to all policies and procedures including those that relate to client safety staff safety and risk management.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Position is high profile and is subject to multiple deadlines and potential interruptions
- Work at times may occur at unscheduled hours
- The work will also be done primarily remotely due to current office space limitations. However inperson meetings may still occur at certain times.
