Job description

The successful candidate will have the following experience, education and competencies : Experience and Education :

• Up to five yearsʼ experience working as a journalist;
• Proven ability to generate compelling, original stories for a news platform;
• Experience in developing, maintaining and leveraging sources;
• Experience working independently and as part of a team and incorporating feedback;
• Post-secondary education in journalism, political science, economics or a related field (preferred but not required);
• An engaged presence on social media (preferred but not required).
• Solid news judgment and superior research and reporting skills;
• Clear and concise communicator who is attentive to audience needs;
• Photography skills a strong plus;
• Big-picture thinker capable of identifying trends, patterns or story lines while also taking care of details and accuracy;
• Adept at building and maintaining relationships;
• Resourceful, entrepreneurial and reliable.
