Position Details

Position Title: Co-op - Business Systems Analyst, IT FinOps

Reports To: Manager, IT FinOps

Department: IT Infrastructure

Term: Temporary Full-Time, Four (4) Month Contract

Work Arrangements

This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement, and some roles may require more in-office days.

The Opportunity

As a Co-op - Business Systems Analyst, IT FinOps, you will be part of an innovative team responsible for designing and optimizing enterprise IT financial operations, including financial, asset, vendor, and procurement processes. This role will oversee vendor and procurement activities and have direct accountability for the systems and platforms that support these processes.

This position is ideal for someone passionate about operational efficiency, with a keen eye for detail, and interested in working with systems that support financial, asset, vendor, and procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily purchasing and procurement operations, including purchase order & invoice processing, subscription/license management, and new vendor onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for IT financial, asset, and vendor data.
  • Participate in audit and compliance activities related to vendors and assets.
  • Assist in expense tracking, budget analysis, reconciliation, and forecasting.
  • Work with technologies like Microsoft 365 (Copilot AI, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform) and ServiceNow.
Candidate Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program with a Co-op component.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop platforms and Office 365 applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Eager to learn, adaptable, and team-oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
  • Ability to work independently on simple projects and collaboratively on complex ones.
