Hours of work: 75 hours per pay period

Approximately end date: March 2028

Position Objective:

The Translation Network, a Ministry of Health-funded program hosted by Niagara Health, is seeking a translator to provide English to French translation services for public-facing resources for healthcare providers across Ontario. The successful candidate will translate various documents into French, ensure quality control of translations by freelance translators, proofread formatted translations, create terminology records and lexicons, and liaise with clients and freelance translators. The position is based at the Welland Site, with potential for remote work.

Qualifications

• University degree in translation from a recognized institution or accreditation from a professional translators association
• At least three years of recent experience in English to French translation and revision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent analytical and research skills
• Effective interpersonal, judgment, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of health terminology and the Ontario healthcare system
• Familiarity with Logiterm
• Consistent and reliable attendance
