Overview
As a Big Data Architect, you are passionate about data and technology solutions, driven to learn and stay current with market evolution. You will play an active role in delivering modern data solutions for clients, including data ingestion, pipeline design and implementation, data warehouse and data lake architectures, cognitive computing, and cloud services. Enthusiastic about data, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, you are tech-savvy with a solid understanding of software development.
What you’ll be doing :
- Lead, define, and implement end-to-end modern data platforms supporting analytics and AI use cases.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, data architects, ETL developers & engineers, data scientists, and information designers to identify and define data structures, formats, pipelines, metadata, and workload orchestration capabilities.
- Address data privacy & security, ingestion & processing, storage & compute, analytical & operational consumption, data modeling, virtualization, self-service data prep & analytics, AI enablement, and API integrations.
- Serve as the technical liaison between customers and engineering teams.
- Collaborate with the sales team to formulate and execute strategies for adopting AWS and big data technologies and building offerings.
- Act as an AWS evangelist by educating customers on the value of AWS and its Data services.
- Travel up to 50% of the time.
Qualifications & Experience :
- 5+ years leading data solutions from design to implementation, supporting on-premise, cloud (preferably AWS), and hybrid architectures for analytics and AI.
- 5+ years architecting solutions for data extraction, transformation, and loading from various sources using SQL, NoSQL, and data pipelines for real-time, streaming, batch, and on-demand workloads.
- 3+ years in analytics/data management strategy, architectural blueprinting, business case development, and effort estimation.
- 3+ years experience working in cloud or multi-server environments, with AWS experience required.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile development in data projects.
Strong candidates will also have:
- Strong SQL, database, data modeling, warehousing, and development skills.
- Experience with AWS cloud services like S3, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Glue, Quicksight, etc.
- Experience with industry-standard dashboarding and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
- Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS).
- Strong people management skills.
- AWS certifications in architecture, data engineering, or development (preferred).
- Subject matter expertise in industries like Financial Services, Retail, Energy, Healthcare, or Government.
- Experience with data security, encryption, PII/PSI legislation, identity, and access management.
- Knowledge of software configuration management tools (JIRA, Git, Jenkins, TFS, etc.).
Educational Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Management, Big Data & Analytics, or related fields.
