Job summary

BrightPath Kids Inc. in Port Coquitlam, BC, is hiring an Early Childhood Educator Assistant for a casual role.

You will work with teachers and families to provide a home‑like environment for children, supporting instruction and well‑being, and helping to maintain a clean, organized classroom. The position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $18.50–$19.00, company benefits including a childcare discount, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Assistant Certification required.
• Must meet province requirement for childcare employment.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist ECEs and ITs with classroom instruction.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom promoting child well‑being.
• Engage with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Collaborate with coworkers, management and families.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as needed.
• Support cleanliness and organization of materials.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting ECE’s and IT’s with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Early Childhood Assistant Certification
• Must meet province requirement for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
• Experience in planning and implementing programs.
