Job summary
Kidspace Learning Centres Eagle Creek Inc. is seeking dedicated Early Childhood Educator Assistants to join our licensed childcare team, serving children from birth to 5 years. You will support infants and toddlers, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and maintain a safe, nurturing environment.
Work 30-40 hours weekly (Mon-Fri, 7 AM–6 PM with a 1-hour unpaid lunch). Requirements: College/CEGEP, Valid ECEA Assistant Certificate, First Aid & CPR, criminal record check.
Qualifications
- College/CEGEP education required.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.
- Valid Early Childhood Educator Assistant Certificate.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Criminal record check.
Responsibilities
- Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties.
- Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers.
- Develop and implement child-care programs supporting physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
- Storytelling and lead activities with stories and songs.
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents or supervisor.
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects health, security and well-being of children.

Kidspace Learning Centres Eagle Creek Inc. is a fully licensed childcare facility providing quality care for children from birth to 5 years of age. We are currently seeking dedicated Early Childhood Educators to join our team and work with children aged 0 to 3 years.
- Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties
- Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Storytelling
- Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
- Order supplies and equipment
- Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
- Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
