Island First Patch Learning Center is seeking an Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our family home daycare team. The successful candidate will help provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for young children while supporting their learning, development, and daily routines.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, is flexible with scheduling, and works well as part of a team.

Qualifications

• ECE Assistant certification or childcare qualification as required by licensing regulations.
• Experience with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers is an asset.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, as required for the position.
• Knowledge of child development, health, safety, and hygiene practices.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Patience, reliability, flexibility, and a genuine interest in children’s learning and well‑being.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a childcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily care, supervision, and safety of children.
• Support age-appropriate, play-based learning activities and creative experiences.
• Help children develop social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills.
• Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe indoor and outdoor environment.
• Follow daycare policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing requirements.
• Observe children’s behaviour and share relevant information with the supervisor.
• Support positive behaviour guidance and inclusive childcare practices.
• Assist with daily routines, transitions, and outdoor play.

Work Schedule
