Job summary

Bright Beginnings Child Care in Tiverton, Ontario is seeking a daycare assistant on-site. The role involves supporting infants and toddlers, preparing snacks, and helping early childhood educators with activities to promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.

The position requires a secondary school graduation certificate and 7 months to <1 year of experience. First Aid and CPR certificates are preferred. This is a permanent, full-time on-site role with 30–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in daycare or similar setting.
• On-site work required with no remote option.

Responsibilities

• Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties.
• Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers.
• Maintain daycare equipment.
• Storytelling to children and group activities.
• Support early childhood educators in programs promoting development.
• Lead activities and read stories with children.
• Order supplies and equipment.
• Keep records under supervision.
• Encourage creativity through art, drama, music and active play.
• Guide children in eating, dressing and toilet habits.
• Prepare snacks and arrange spaces for lunch and rest periods.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems.

• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
