Job summary

Prairie Lily Early Learning Centre is hiring Early Childhood Educators to work with children aged 0–12 in a home-like, supportive setting. Successful applicants will plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and collaborate with the team to maintain high-quality care.

Flexibility to cover a variety of areas, commitment to policy, and strong communication with families via HiMama, Lillio and Reminds are essential.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team of Early Childhood Educators at Prairie Lily Early Learning Centre! We are specifically looking for someone who can love working with any of our age groups, as this job will require working in a variety of areas with children ages 0-12.
The successful applicant will need to have patience, creativity in planning and programming activities, and approach life with a sense of fun and wonder! They will need to be able to work as part of a team but also be independently motivated. Applicants must be dependable, reliable, and willing to stick to a set schedule for hours. Applicants must be able to follow policy and procedures, and will be provided with an employee handbook when hired.
The successful applicant will need to be familiar with a play based learning approach, and will need to have an idea of how to use positive behavioral guidance techniques. They will need to be aware of and plan for children to be supported in reaching all developmental milestones, and will need to be comfortable working with children with a wide variety of behavioral and cognitive needs. We work hard to create a home like and supportive environment for our families and children, and the successful applicant will need be an active participant in contributing to that work.
They will need to be able to communicate with other team members to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided, and to ensure that a positive team bond is maintained. We expect all ECE's with Prairie Lily to be able to independently communicate with our parents verbally, through Lillio (formerly HiMama), and through Reminds messages. We do have high expectations for our ECE's when it comes to programming and planning and offer paid time for ECE's to do this work during their scheduled shifts with the Centre.
We are currently hiring both part- and full-time permanent positions, working between 20 and 40 hours a week.
