Job summary

Hillcrest Early Learning Centre is seeking energetic educators to join a team caring for children aged 18 months to 12 years. You will develop and implement daily activities, foster literacy and math concepts, and model responsible behavior.

Applicants should have an ECE I or be willing to take classes; first aid and CPR-C, along with WHMIS, are required. Training is provided to support ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• WHMIS training.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily activities for children aged 18 months to 12 years.
• Work as a team with other staff members to support learning.
• Adapt programming to meet the needs and abilities of children.
• Provide a safe, clean, and welcoming environment and supervise children at all times.
• Involve children in songs, games, literacy and math activities.
• Maintain equipment and assist with housekeeping and cooking duties.
• Follow safety, first aid, fire procedures and child care regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

• The Early Childhood Educators will work with children 18 months to 12 years old working as a team with other staff members.
• Develop and implement daily activities for children.
• Adapt programming to meet the needs and abilities of children in your group.
• Help children clean up after activities and role model a sense of responsibility and pride in their environment.
• Maintain child care equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties.
• Be familiar with and abide by safety, first aid, fire procedures and the Child Care Regulations.
• Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities
• Develop activities that introduce math and literacy concepts
• Be familiar with emergency procedures
• Ensure children are supervised at all times including bathroom
• Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and story telling
• Provide opportunities for sleep and rest time
• Establish (visual) routines and provide positive guidance
• Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable and welcome
• Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand
• Other duties as assigned
• Applicant hired will work with experienced educators that can assist and train.

Qualifications:

Minimum Early Childhood Education (ECE I), or willing to take classes.( Training Provided) At this time we have a program available for application to receive level 1 with accelerated classes from Saskpolytech. Director and Supervisor available to assist with education.
