Job summary

BrightPath Kids New Market, ON is seeking a Casual Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) to work with teachers and families to create a home away from home for children. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of $17.95 plus government funding and no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Early Childhood Assistant Certification or being a Registered Early Childhood Educator is required.
• Must meet provincial childcare employment requirements.
• Current Standard First Aid and infant CPR certification.
• Immunization and health assessment as per local health requirements.
• Experience in planning and implementing programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintain a safe, healthy environment for children.
• Interact with children to encourage participation in activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and staff.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development as needed.
• Help maintain classroom materials and cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you be doing?

As an Casual Early Childhood Assistant (ECA), you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with instruction in the classroom.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School/Equivalent required, Early Childhood Assistant Certification, or Registered Early Childhood Educator
• Must meet province requirement for childcare employment
• Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
• Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements
• Experience in planning and implementing programs.
