We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Systems Engineering for our Waterloo location. This position is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of system engineering activities within an integrated product/project team composed of customers, internal, and subcontract members. The primary focus is on system engineering related to design, development, integration, testing, and acceptance of new and existing technologies.

This position will be responsible for applying specialized knowledge in preparing plans for designs and specifications to meet operational requirements, participating in procurement and implementation projects, and providing assistance for lifecycle management of systems and equipment.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage system requirements, including development, validation, verification, and configuration management.
  2. Generate and manage systems engineering documentation such as specifications, schematics, Interface Control Documents, test plans, and maintenance support documents.
  3. Provide technical leadership across engineering programs involving multiple teams or disciplines.
  4. Lead technical risk management activities, including identification, qualification, mitigation, and resolution.
  5. Make informed technical decisions and perform analyses like power and link budget assessments to support project decisions.
  6. Conduct trade studies and recommend technology insertions to meet capability requirements.
  7. Plan, execute, and document formal qualification tests.
  8. Estimate engineering effort for tasks and projects through job analysis.
  9. Ensure engineering tasks comply with company policies and procedures.
  10. Support manufacturing during product transition from development to production.
  11. Assist in business development for new system integration projects.
  12. Support existing programs with technical investigations, integration development, and reviews.
  13. Assist engineering staff with technical issues related to systems engineering.
  14. Contribute to division growth through project expansion and development initiatives.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Electrical, Computer, Systems Design, or related field.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in systems engineering, integration, or development environments.
  3. Experience with radar, ATC systems, RF communications, and hardware/software integration is an asset.
  4. Experience with Modeling and Simulation applications is an asset.
  5. Experience as a system architect or project engineer is an asset.
  6. Eligibility for professional registration with PEO (Professional Engineers of Ontario).
  7. Experience with IBM DOORS is beneficial.
  8. Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence is preferred.
  9. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  10. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  11. Willingness to travel globally for short periods.
