Business Analyst Job Description

The ISV and Advanced Architecture (IAA) group is seeking a Business Analyst for its Program Management Office (PMO) team. You will be a key contributor to the smooth operation of daily activities, ensuring that financial, staffing, and corporate objectives are tracked and achieved.

You will interact with Software Engineering Management, Developer Relations, business units, program and resource management functions, including corporate reporting and budgeting teams. You will represent the IAA team in communications with internal and external forums and report on resource and budget statuses to executive leadership.

The responsibilities of this role will evolve, and the successful candidate should have a desire to learn and grow within the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, support, troubleshoot, and report on employee resource pools and timesheet databases, including staff account creation and maintenance.
• Regularly report on resource allocations across teams and data entry delinquency statuses.
• Perform integrity checks between databases to ensure data consistency and rectify issues.
• Engage with management at all levels to resolve data discrepancies and user issues.
• Assist with quarterly reconciliation activities for labor, capital, and resource/financial forecasts and actuals.
• Create new project codes and resource allocation structures in MS Project Server.
• Manage outside services forecast and actuals, and assist with materials forecast and actuals.

Skills and Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or Finance.
• At least 2 years of business analysis experience in a complex project and program management environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Project, Project Server, and PowerPoint; experience with SharePoint is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience in data modeling, database management, reporting, and financial analysis.
• Ability to multitask and deliver high-quality work on time.
• Interest or background in project management; Scrum/PMP certification is advantageous.
• Flexibility in responsibilities and a strong work ethic with a desire to grow within the role.
