Pinchin is seeking an experienced GIS System Administrator to join our Integrated Digital Services (IDS) Team.
The GIS System Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's Geographic Information System (GIS) infrastructure. This includes overseeing GIS software implementation, databases, related technologies, and providing technical support and training to users.
Responsibilities at Pinchin:
- Manage and administer GIS & ETL platforms, databases, and servers.
- Develop GIS data management policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support and maintain Esri ArcGIS Enterprise environments, including Portal, Datastore, and ArcGIS Server, and upgrade systems as needed.
- Document application guides, work processes, and server configurations.
- Provide insights and recommendations for GIS policies and software purchases.
- Perform data acquisition, conversion, integration, and quality control.
- Design and maintain GIS data layers, maps, and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to GIS & FME software, hardware, and data.
- Collaborate with IT to address GIS platform security needs.
- Stay updated with GIS industry trends and best practices.
- Assist in GIS project development and implementation.
- Complete ArcGIS software patching manually and automatically.
- Manage Active Directory objects for GIS authentication and authorization.
- Integrate data from other systems to meet customer requirements.
- Ensure data security and compliance with policies and laws.
- Apply the ArcGIS and FME Products Life Cycle.
- Develop GIS processes, standards, and documentation.
- Code in SQL, JS, Python, and Arcade.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Computer Science/Engineering, Geography, with at least 8 years of experience.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise Platform and AutoCAD.
- Experience in data integration, geodatabases, schemas, and geospatial datasets management.
- Familiarity with ETL tools like FME.
- Proficiency in programming with Python, JS, or R, and complex SQL commands.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent reading comprehension, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
