We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accountant reporting to the Director, Finance to join our team and support our financial analysis and budgeting.
Job Summary:
The Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting processes, journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting to various stakeholders on the Tempo team. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are essential, as this role involves ensuring accuracy in financial records, identifying discrepancies, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Full Cycle Accounting Processes
- Support monthly and annual financial close process, ensuring all costs incurred are properly accrued and recorded, including the preparation of journal entries.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, process weekly cash transactions (receipts from customers, payments to vendors, etc.), update monthly cash flow forecast.
- Ensure that AR and AP functions are performed accurately and on time.
- Review and manage key balance sheet reconciliation process and reporting.
- Record and track fixed assets, record depreciation, and account for the disposition of fixed assets.
- Participate in year-end closing, prepare year end external audit schedules, and respond to various queries and requests from external auditors.
- Support the year-end audit process and address external auditor requests.
- Generate financial reports for various stakeholders, including league reporting, sponsorship reporting, and general financial reporting.
- Collaborate with different business units to analyze and explain significant account variances.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Implement best practices and automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Support with special projects and perform ad-hoc analysis as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with marketing, sponsorships, and operations departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data collection and reporting.
- Ensure ongoing communications with various departments to ensure all budgets are accurate.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA designation in progressor completed is required. .
- 1+ years of accounting/finance experience required.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, such as D365 BC.
- Familiar with the Microsoft Office suite.
