Qualifications

What You Will Be Doing

CIBC Global Asset Management (CIBC GAM) is one of Canada's largest asset management firms. We provide a broad range of high-quality global investment management solutions to retail and institutional clients. Our goal is to help our clients achieve what matters to them, guided by our values of Trust, Teamwork, and Accountability, through a disciplined investment approach based on rigor and research.

You will be part of a dynamic team as a Business Development Manager, working with the National Asset Specialist Team to increase market share with existing clients and develop new business relationships. Your sales activities will include virtual and in-person engagements, supported by tools like CapIntel, Morningstar Adviser, Smart Planner, CIBC Goal Planner, ECRM, and Allego. You will also support the growth of Personal Portfolio Services through proposals and ongoing service to advisors, assisting in managing sales capability development and investment proposals across Retail Markets and other groups.

Work arrangements (on-site and remote) will be discussed during your interview. Occasional travel within GTA is required.

How You Will Succeed
  • Prospect for new business with Advisors through contacts and follow-ups.
  • Maintain full knowledge of GAM products, market trends, and investment strategies, and deliver this information to Advisors.
  • Build and strengthen relationships to meet sales targets.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Specialist Team across various levels and activities.
  • Act as a solution provider by understanding advisor needs and presenting suitable product solutions, including investment proposals and insights.
Who You Are
  • You have sales experience in the mutual fund/wealth management industry, with knowledge of current industry trends, bonds, and capital markets.
  • You are passionate about building relationships, trust, and authenticity.
  • You hold current or past accreditation with Mutual Funds (MF) and/or Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
  • You are proficient in Salesforce (ECRM), Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft 365.
  • You have a degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • You are fluent in English; fluency in French is an asset.
  • You value trust, teamwork, and accountability, and bring your authentic self to work.
