Are you an Electrical Engineer with high voltage expertise? Collaborating with the Engineer Supervisor, this individual will bring a strong Electrical Engineering foundation and Power industry experience.

Join our team as an Engineer to support operational needs and strategies to safely provide reliable natural gas supply. If you have over 4 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer and hold a P. Eng, this could be an excellent opportunity for you!

This position will be based in Kamloops, BC, and will be a full-time fixed-term role for 3 years, supporting the Northwest Gas Transmission Assets and Major Growth Projects.

What you will do :

1. Provide technical support to field operations and personnel regarding relevant codes, processes, standards, and guidelines.
2. Support or lead technical operations responsibilities such as audits, reliability support, investigations, process improvements, and technical reviews.
3. Assist in emergency response situations and efforts.
4. Evaluate and support risk ranking along the system to ensure funding is allocated to projects with the most impact on safety, integrity, and reliability.
5. Prepare and approve work packages for engineering modifications; identify and assess reliability issues to determine effective mitigations or solutions.

Who you are :

1. You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and are a Registered Professional Engineer with immediate eligibility for registration with EGBC.
2. You have 4 or more years of experience with electrical and power systems.
3. You possess knowledge of control systems, electrical transmission, high voltage systems, natural gas, power generation, and UPS systems.
4. You have proven experience with large industrial power systems, including substations, electric motor drives, VFDs, and switchgear.

Working Conditions (Optional) :

1. This is an office-based role with significant field time to support and understand operational needs.
2. May require travel up to 35%, typically for a full week at a time, to support projects or operational activities.
3. Fieldwork involves exposure to extreme climates and long drives under dynamic road conditions.
