Electrical Engineering Technologist
- Remote

Xolar Inc. is a full service turnkey platform for transitioning both residential and business clients to solar energy. We support our clients with a done-for-you approach, taking them from project design all the way to construction.

About the role:
We are looking to hire an electrical engineer or technologist to join our team and take on a technical project management role. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting our ready-to-build installation plans, and assisting by submitting applications and securing approvals from the necessary utility & building authorities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Drafting & Project management:
   – Review project scope & produce finalized ready-to-build installation plans
   – Drafting electrical line diagrams, and solar panel layouts in AutoCAD
   – Interact with clients, utilities, building authorities, etc. to secure all required project approvals.
2. Administrative:
   – Updating customer relationship portal as-needed, to maintain data hygiene.
   – Maintain up to date client files including records such as permit fees, design plans etc.
   – Work directly with suppliers and other project stakeholders.
3. Troubleshooting & system monitoring:
   – Commitment to become a technical expert with the products and services that we offer.
   – Upload new systems to the monitoring platform upon project completion.
   – Monitor and manage our fleet of customer monitoring profiles.
   – Respond to system alerts, and technical service requests to provide preliminary troubleshooting.
   – Schedule service calls as needed.

Qualifications:
– Formal education in the engineering / electrical field
– Proficiency in using CAD and drafting electrical diagrams.
– Strong written & verbal communication in English
– Past experience in project management is an asset.
