POSITION SUMMARY :

The Corporate Counsel is responsible for reviewing vendor contracts, negotiating terms, reviewing changes to standard agreements, providing legal advice across multiple areas including commercial, business, employment, insurance, privacy, and real estate, assisting with litigation management, drafting policies, and other legal duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Collaborate with contract owners to understand contract provisions.
• Maintain a centralized database of contracts, trademarks, licenses, and case files.
• Manage litigation cases in partnership with outside counsel, including reviewing pleadings, attending hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and preparing case reports.
• Assist with investigations related to HR, Compliance, and Risk Management.
• Draft and revise company policies.
• Understand and address issues related to the company's insurance programs in contracts and projects.
• Perform additional legal responsibilities as needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school preferred.
• Licensed to practice law in California, in good standing.
• 1-3 years of legal experience, especially in contract administration.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess business risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
