Job description

What is the opportunity? As a skilled financing specialist supporting a high-performing commercial banking team with portfolio management and compliance support, you will contribute to an exceptional client experience by providing superior business, financial, and credit advice. Your contribution to the Client’s Relationship Team, and strategic partnership with the Commercial Relationship Manager, in managing the credit process, will enable more client-facing time. The successful candidate must be within commutable distance to any of the following RBC Commercial Centres: Vancouver, Langley, Kelowna, Kamloops, Victoria, Nanaimo.

What will you do?

1. Leverage superior business analysis skills to meet client expectations for credit requests and completion of annual reviews.
2. Provide quality business analysis and credit advice through presentation options that clearly articulate advantages and benefits to the client.
3. Demonstrate RBC’s capability to provide creative financial solutions in a timely manner and deliver credit solutions that meet or exceed client needs.
4. Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and collaboration by coaching, mentoring, and assisting colleagues to meet client needs.
5. Exercise due diligence in recommending credit applications, working in collaboration with Risk Management, especially in supporting risk processes and guidelines.

What do you need to succeed? Must-have

1. Proven track record in financial and credit analysis supporting exceptional client relationship management.
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in commercial lending in a financial institution.
3. Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
4. Strong presentation and communication skills.
5. Experience with emerging resources, communications, and technology (e.g., online data resources, web-based meetings, social media, digital banking, mobile applications).

Nice-to-have

1. Assessment of risk and financial analysis, credit structuring/solutions, and presenting deals.
2. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
3. Specialized industry expertise (e.g., real estate, healthcare, agriculture).
4. Minimum post-secondary diploma/degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
5. Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
