Position Summary : The ideal territory manager has in-depth knowledge of and experience with the sales process, and excels at lead generation, relationship building, and closing deals. Develop and execute sales of factory automation solutions; products and services in assigned accounts. Accounts are not always in a specific geography. Responsible for involvement from the concept and detail of the design through implementation, testing, and handover. Responsible for analyzing the customer’s needs with respect to our product offerings and proposing solutions to the customer to assist them in achieving their objectives.

Tasks / Responsibilities :

  • Represent the best interests of the Company at all times.
  • Become the solution provider in the assigned accounts.
  • Obtain a balance of sales by selling all products and services.
  • Grow gross margin in the assigned accounts.
  • Perform tasks as directed by management and abide by the Employee Handbook.
  • Sell automation hardware and software solutions within an assigned territory, representing Clayton Controls lines and Clayton Engineered Solutions.
  • Achieve company objectives by planning effectively, setting sales goals, and projecting future performance.
  • Conduct customer presentations at all levels of the organization.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic relationships.
  • Liaise with engineering teams, clients, and contractors.
  • Develop new customers through leads and prospecting.
  • Follow up on quotations, negotiate, and persuade customers to order.
  • Analyze data to optimize sales methods.
  • Participate in industry events to build customer relationships.
  • Assess sales performance using KPIs.
  • Monitor competition within the territory.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Sales Manager.
  • Demonstrate results-oriented, strategic planning, and strong communication skills.
  • Work independently, manage time effectively, and develop sales strategies using KPIs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Teams, and automation product knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • B.A. in Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ industry sales experience with a proven track record.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the territory (75-80%).
