Job description

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, this full-time role will be responsible for HR administration, benefits management, recruitment coordination, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. This position will include the following responsibilities and day-to-day functions but is not limited to :

HR Support & Administration :

  • Maintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HRIS data.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, including new hire documentation, background checks, and orientation.
  • Support compliance with employment laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support in HR projects and initiatives.

Benefits & Employee Relations :

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, updates, and responding to inquiries.
  • Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, benefits, and programs.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting on employee leave, accommodations, and other HR matters.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and coordinate corporate events.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition :

  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating communication with candidates.
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job requisitions.
  • Support recruitment and retention strategies in collaboration with the HR team.

Health & Safety Support :

  • Assist in maintaining and enforcing occupational health and safety (OH&S) policies and procedures.
  • Support workplace injury investigations, OH&S audits, and incident tracking.
  • Coordinate and track employee safety training such as First Aid, WHMIS, and H2S.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal OH&S regulations.
  • Participate in occupational health and safety meetings and assist in implementing safety initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will ideally have :

  • 1-3 years of experience in an HR role.
  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources or Business Administration (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience with HRIS and time-tracking systems (familiarity with Paycor, Dayforce, or similar HRIS- time tracking payroll platforms is an asset).
  • Knowledge or experience in OH&S policies and workplace safety programs is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented approach.
  • Capable of handling confidential, sensitive, and personal information.
  • Strong planning and organization skills to determine priorities with strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and adaptability.
  • Team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision, collaborate, interact, and build effective relationships across and at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel within Saskatchewan including to Spiritwood, SK.
