Human Resources Generalist / Business Analyst
Location: Remote, Canada (CST)
Term: Immediate – November 2025, possibility of extension
Overview:
Our client has an immediate requirement for an HR Generalist/Business Analyst to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Review, understand, and document client HR policies, processes, and practices, including CBAs and LOUs (if applicable), such as PTO plans, overtime/banked time, hours of work, meal breaks, leave types, employment-related deductions, hours of operation, shift premiums/salary payments, minimum call-out, student worker shifts, and reporting lines/authority for time approvals.
- Consider applicable provincial employment legislation (BC, AB, SK, MB, Federal) and recommend changes to policies and practices to ensure compliance and alignment across the CRS.
- Work as an alliance between the data conversion program team and the client to gather, validate, and deliver required data for conversion purposes, such as employee core data, vacation, sick and banked time balances, and payroll data (current and YTD) through all cycles of data conversion.
- Collaborate with the program change management team to assess change impacts and facilitate a smooth transition to the new product.
- Maintain the client workbook containing all system configuration requirements and deliver a completed product for transition to operations.
- Coordinate with the program team to ensure all workstreams have the required data, with clear and well-documented requirements.
Skills:
- 3-5 years of Canadian HR Generalist/Practitioner experience
- At least 2 years of HR Business Analyst experience
- Payroll and/or Time & Attendance experience preferred
- High proficiency in Excel
- Experience in requirements gathering and data collection
- Comfortable representing the program with new clients
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Experience working in a virtual environment and managing ambiguity
- Curiosity, empathy, and a strong desire to learn
- System implementation experience is an asset
