Summary of the Job

Identify and develop business opportunities for the assigned business, focusing on organic growth, acquiring new customers, increasing wallet share, and evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities. The BD Manager will develop strategic-channel relationships, collaborate with regional and finance teams to build business cases supporting organic and inorganic growth, and will be responsible for the APAC region.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise low / medium complexity projects (sim upgrades, deployments, relocations, disposals) from kick-off to BB approval.
  • Work with regional and finance teams to develop business cases supporting organic growth.
  • Identify marketplace opportunities, prospect and engage new clients and partners, maintain and grow existing relationships, lead proposal development, and manage contracting.
  • Develop innovative proposals and deliver strategic BD presentations.
  • Achieve BD and sales targets.
  • Shape client and market perceptions of CAE's capabilities.
  • Manage governance information and ensure compliance with CAE policies.
  • Provide management with visibility into key opportunities.
  • Mentor and coach supporting analysts.

Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree in International Trade, Business, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Experience in business development, mergers, and acquisitions is an asset.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to engage with decision-makers.
  • Proven success in prospecting and account growth.
  • Positive attitude, competitive drive, and teamwork skills.
  • Client service orientation and business acumen.
  • Creativity, innovation, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of the aviation market and procurement process is an asset.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Excellent project management and reporting skills.

Additional Information

  • Travel required : 5-15% domestically and internationally.
  • Position type : Regular, full-time, mid-senior level.
