About the Role

As the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will lead shifts and oversee guest experiences alongside the Senior F&B Supervisor. Your passion for hospitality, knowledge of our food and beverage offerings, and familiarity with the resort will inspire the team and help make our dining venues the preferred destinations in Tofino for both guests and staff. You will ensure service standards are maintained across all meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, après surf, and dinner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure top-tier guest service, exceeding expectations and building loyalty
  • Supervise daily operations, including shift briefings, assignments, and cash handling
  • Support service on the floor during busy periods or staffing gaps
  • Oversee food service and assist as an expediter when needed
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members for service and professional growth
  • Assist with performance documentation and recognition
  • Act as a communication link between leadership and staff, fostering collaboration
  • Assist with staff scheduling and maintain cost-effective labor practices
  • Support payroll functions, including gratuity reconciliation
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Handle guest concerns professionally, ensuring service recovery
  • Ensure team knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation
  • Utilize F&B and guest service software such as Silverware, OpenTable, and GuestX
  • Promote health, safety, and green practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Hotel/Restaurant Management is an asset
  • 2-3 years leadership experience in F&B, preferably in a hotel
  • Focus on guest needs with a calm and courteous demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of fine food, wines, and service standards
  • Proficiency in MS Office and POS systems, preferably Silverware
  • Serving It Right certification required
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, and stay active for up to 10 hours per shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling
  • Occasional use of ladders, stairs, and ramps
Staff Housing

Limited accommodations may be available on a first-come, first-served basis, including access to kitchen, laundry, and Wi-Fi. Priority may be given to full-time staff or those without local housing options.
