About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor oversees inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of foods efficiently and accurately, following work instructions and menus, and using food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions and Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and team members during food prep and service shifts
• Prepare and assist in food preparation according to menus and recipes
• Ensure proper and sanitary storage of all food
• Serve food according to schedules and policies
• Utilize kitchen utensils and equipment properly
• Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
• Train other food service workers
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
• Adhere to uniform policies
• Manage waste and keep the kitchen clean
• Ensure proper portions and serving utensils
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment
• Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for long periods
• Perform additional duties as assigned
