Position: Accounting and Payroll Administrator (Full-time)
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Reports to: Sr. Financial Analyst

Position Summary
Responsible for supporting the Finance Department of SPLC in all areas including payroll, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable.
Responsibilities 2. Manages payroll functions3. Processes accounts payable & receivable entries for non-account transactions4. Supports quality work processes and continuous improvements5. Supports health and safety initiatives of the organization
- Cash & Donation management
- Prepares monthly bank reconciliations
- Provides detailed financial analysis and ad hoc assignments as required by Director of Finance
- Assists Accounting Manager/Sr Financial Analyst as required in cash management and year end reconciliation including balance sheet reconciliation
- Prepares and processes bi-weekly payroll for hourly & salaried employees in a timely & accurate manner
- Prepares customized reports as needed such as ROEs and T4s
- Maintains confidential personnel files, including timely filing of all documents pertaining to required changes
- Assists accounts payable and receivable modules in Quick books, GP, ACCPAC, and other accounting software
- Suggests, creates, and implements value added changes in finance and other areas.
- Conducts ongoing quality improvement as needed
Education
- Completion of Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Membership with Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) an asset (Level 3-4)
Experience & Skills
- Two to Three (2- 3) years full cycle payroll and accounting experience
- Good understanding of accounting principles and payroll legislations
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Advanced Excel skills
- Experience using payroll and accounting systems such as Great Plains, Quadrant HR, or QuickBooks software required.
- Ability to work independently on tight deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be flexible with hours and have the ability to work occasional additional hours when required to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to speak a second language (Cantonese) an asset
