ABOUT THE POSITION:- We are looking for a Human Resources Advisor who will be responsible for providing coaching and advice to managers and employees in matters of employee relations and in the application of various other areas of human resources.
- This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of managers' skills and provide advice, support and coaching regarding the application of employee relations, compensation, benefits, recruitment, performance management and talent policies and programs.
- You will work a 5-day work week schedule and report directly to the Human Resources Manager, Atlantic Energy and Minerals, Human Resources Sector.
Duties:- Provide operational leaders with specific and sound advice on employee relations with respect to case management, investigation processes, grievance and dispute resolution, complaints and policy enforcement while ensuring alignment with the employee relations strategy.
- Provide advice on the interpretation and application of collective agreements and obligations and policies related to employment legislation.
- Provide local HR operational advice and services to managers and employees.
- Influence human resources decisions of establishments/business units based on service delivery model HR.
- Proactively review practices and parameters of operational performance and develop strategies and initiatives to enhance capabilities, effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensure the management of engagement initiatives in a spirit of collaboration at the regional level.
- Support HR leaders and business partners in recurring annual activities, such as salary review, talent review and performance management.
- Provide support for special projects and other initiatives (e.g.: employee engagement/mobilization, performance and capability improvement, change management).
- Provide advice on human resources policies and procedures and guide customers through the various HR departments.

- Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations or in a related field.
- Experience in human resources.
- Experience working in an industrial environment and in a unionized environment;
- Knowledge of provincial laws on labor and employment standards as well as than provincial human rights laws.
- Demonstrated experience in industrial relations and customer relations employees.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Fluent in spoken and written French and basic knowledge of English.
MUST HAVE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS:- Experience in HR Management, industrial relations and unionized environment.
- Experience, knowledge of provincial labor and employment standards laws as well as provincial human rights laws.
- Must speak French.
- Must be based in Canada and willing to relocate in Havre Saint Pierre (does need to have the right to work in Canada as we do not provide any work permit for this role).
