Position Overview
Performs professional-level human resources duties in areas such as benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, diversity and inclusion, affirmative action, and employment compliance. Works closely with HR team members to provide services for a designated geographic region and shared services.
Note
This is a 14-month contract position based in Edmonton. The successful candidate is required to work in the office 5 days per week.

Essential Functions
- Serves as the liaison/HR business partner between HR Shared Services and the division, understanding the business needs.
- Administers internal posting/offer process and designs or delivers HR solutions accordingly.
- Participates in events such as training, wellness, orientation, open enrollment, fairs, and other HR activities.
- Onboards new employees from offer to 90 days, ensuring paperwork, screenings, orientation, benefits review, and cultural introduction.
- Educates leadership on Performance Management, leverages the Talent Management Suite, and coaches employees and managers on relations, policies, and practices. Responds to and investigates complaints.
- Supports leadership development initiatives, facilitates training, and monitors completion of required leadership training.
- Supports benefits enrollment and educates employees and leaders on retirement plans, benefits, and wellness initiatives.
- Promotes diversity and inclusion initiatives aligned with Gordon Food Service’s vision and principles.
- Supports Workers Compensation, disability management, and return-to-work processes, serving as a point of contact for involved parties.
- Provides insights on HR metrics such as turnover, hires, diversity, and others.
- Performs administrative HR functions, including unemployment claims processing, training database management, and new hire entry.
- Manages off-boarding processes, including paperwork, retirement info, employee relations, and departure surveys.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience / Tools / Technology
- HR experience required
- Post-secondary education in HR is an asset
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- Proficiency with spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, email, internet, and HRIS software
- Embraces and fosters change
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks
