Position Overview
As the Associate Manager, you support the General Manager in creating strategic plans and managing their execution to ensure a profitable business. You are a key decision-maker in the absence of the General Manager and are responsible for operational excellence, talent optimization, and innovative selling techniques, all while maintaining the highest standards of brand integrity.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the General Manager in analyzing business trends and strategic planning for your store location.
- Educating your team on sales and profit performance tools and resources.
- Creating a consistent customer experience aligned with RL brand expectations by supporting the store vision.
- Assisting in developing the store's client development strategy and leading community outreach efforts.
- Executing the store’s talent strategy in collaboration with the General Manager to build a customer-focused team that embodies the store vision.
- Driving networking and recruitment initiatives within your market.
- Engaging in ongoing talent development through coaching, feedback, and learning opportunities.
- Managing store processes to maintain productivity, including inventory control to meet shrink goals.
- Promoting the use of new technologies to support innovative sales techniques and shopping experiences.
- Upholding all company policies and procedures.
- Providing feedback to leadership on high-profit opportunities and market trends.
- Ensuring the sales floor and store standards exceed expectations at all times.
- Creating an inclusive environment that reflects Ralph Lauren’s core values and cultural focus areas.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
- College degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Retail management experience in a high-volume or high-profile environment preferred.
- Effective communication skills with customers and staff.
- Physical ability to maneuver around the store, handle chemicals, lift up to 30 lbs., and climb as needed.
- Ability to operate registers, stand, walk, and work flexible hours including day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, with potential travel.
- A proven track record of success and building positive relationships.
- Strong business acumen, planning, and time management skills.
