The VP of R&D will oversee software research and development, drive innovation, ensure strategic alignment, and foster cross-functional partnerships.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience leading software development organizations.
- Deep knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Technical expertise in software development, AI-driven solutions, architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.
- Knowledge of emerging trends in public safety software and technology.
- Analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in Public Safety or related software.
- Experience with Cloud-based and on-premise solutions.
- Scrum Master and PMP certifications.
- Experience managing an R&D P&L.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning : Define and execute the R&D roadmap, set priorities, and drive AI integration.
- Technical Leadership : Guide design and architecture, oversee project execution, implement Agile practices, and stay current with development tools.
- Team Management : Inspire, mentor, and develop R&D teams, fostering an inclusive and innovative culture.
- Budgeting & Resources : Manage financial aspects, prioritize projects, and optimize resource allocation.
