YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary :

Account Managers are responsible for managing the overall sales efforts in their assigned territory to maximize sales and profit. They must utilize frequent face-to-face and/or telephone contact in a consultative sales approach to ensure customer satisfaction. They should identify selling opportunities and act decisively to maximize potential and gross profit, both with existing customers through cross- and range-selling and with new leads. Upholding Brenntag's core values and focusing on customer excellence daily are essential.

Job Description :

Customer Business Development (70%)

  • Meet sales objectives, focusing on customer retention and improving overall customer satisfaction, including through digital channels.
  • Identify customer potentials for cross- and range-selling, engaging relevant stakeholders such as Brenntag Specialties sales staff.
  • Set strategies and targets for customer growth in the assigned territory, aligning with the Sales Manager.
  • Conduct customer visits regularly, preparing for meetings with all available tools and reports, and coordinate, negotiate, and close proposals.
  • Manage spot business and rush offers, with support from the Commercial Assistant when needed.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to create optimal solutions for customers and maximize value, including collaboration with Sales and Product Management on pricing.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers in all commercial matters within the territory.
  • Conduct market studies to explore new product opportunities by engaging customers to assess interest and demand.
  • Leverage Brenntag Connect to generate and maximize sales opportunities.

New Customer Generation (10%)

  • Identify opportunities for new sales projects in collaboration with other departments like Product Management.
  • Prioritize and contact prospective customers, nurturing leads through the pipeline with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Brenntag Specialties sales staff regarding new business opportunities with Brenntag Essentials.
  • Set and maximize prices based on value and customer segmentation, within guidelines provided by Product Management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all business cases in the CRM system, including post-visit reports and customer projects.
  • Update opportunity pipelines and potentials regularly in the CRM system.
  • Complete all sales and revenue-related reporting accurately.
  • Drive commercial and operational excellence with guidance from the Commercial Excellence team.
  • Provide regular forecasts of customer product demand to Product Management to assist in demand planning.

Know-How Management (5%)

  • Maintain current product knowledge through ongoing training.
  • Stay informed about changes in the product portfolio and market conditions.
  • Keep updated on feedstock and upstream developments affecting product prices.

YOUR PROFILE

Education and Experience :

  • Preferably post-secondary education focused on Business, Science, or equivalent.
  • Experience in chemical distribution, preferably in sales, with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
