Your Opportunity:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the rural health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities within the scope of their competency. Patient populations vary from emergency care, pre- and post-operative, pediatric, seniors, palliative, to postpartum care. The LPN provides leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care to promote, maintain, or restore health, prevent illness, injury, and disability, or support a peaceful death. The LPN cares for patients across the lifespan, at all health stages and illness complexities. The successful candidate will administer safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards. Please note this position is located in Canmore, Alberta, 100 KM west of Calgary.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Your practice will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skills, and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care, reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
- Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of current emergency experience within the past 3 years.
- 1-year post-partum experience.
- Current Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Current Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Certification in Canadian Triage & Acuity Scale (CTAS).
- Up-to-date N95 Fit Test.
- Completion of It’s Your Move.
- Competence in Lead II interpretation.
- Connect Care Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Connect Care training.
- Certification in Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
