Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Client Service Manager, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is an unregulated member of the interprofessional health care team responsible for providing ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors, and reports on client status, including physical and emotional changes, and reports these to the RN or LPN. The position involves delivering prescribed medications accurately according to policy and procedure, maintaining professional and ethical standards at all times, and performing other related duties as required.

Program Summary:

Complex Mental Health Care provides comprehensive care for adults with complex behaviors, including mental illness, dementia, or other cognitive disorders.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Physical ability to manage lifting, transferring, and repositioning clients.
  • Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory.

Experience:

  • Related experience in a health care facility is an asset.
  • Program-specific training/experience is an asset.
